Spring has sprung in Franklin, Tennessee. The weather is beautiful, the flowers and trees are blooming and birds are singing everywhere. Our Jewish friends are about to celebrate Passover, we Christians, Easter, our greatest Holy Day - and in other parts of the world there is such darkness. In spite of everything, we can look up to our Creator, and know He is aware and watching. We need to pray - we must pray - we must trust in His answer for this world - Jesus Christ, and His coming again.
Psalm 123
I lift up my eyes to you,
to you who sit
enthroned in heaven.
As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a
female slave look to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
till he shows us
his mercy.
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us,
for we have
endured no end of contempt.
We have endured no end
of ridicule from
the arrogant,
of contempt from
the proud.
Psalm 127
Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor
in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand
watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants
sleep to those he loves.
Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward
from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born
in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is
full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend
with their opponents in court.
